January was a month of transition, learning, and pushing forward—both in life and in the kitchen. We are 14 days into February (Happy Valentines Day), I’m reflecting on the lessons that were kneaded into my journey: from embracing courage in my health and fitness to navigating personal changes and redirecting my baking business. These past 45 days have shown me that it’s that small steps, consistency, and resilience can lead to something greater.
1. Finding Strength in the Small Steps
I made a commitment to movement—not just in my business, but in my body and mind. Living with Chiari malformation means that some days feel harder than others, but I reminded myself that progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up. Whether it was a short strength session, a walk, or simply stretching on the days my body needed rest, I proved to myself that every small step matters.
💡 Reflection: What’s one small step you took this month that made a big impact?
2. The Beauty of Imperfection in Baking (and Life)
Baking has always been my safe space, it reminded me of something deeper: the best things in life, just like in the kitchen, come together in layers. Some batches turn out flawless, while others teach me valuable lessons in patience, adaptability, and creativity.
Last month I went back to my roots and baked my mother’s ginger bread, worked through baking challenges, and embraced the reality that mistakes are just part of the process. And guess what? The final result is always worth it.
💡 Tip: What’s a recipe or skill you tried this month that pushed you outside your comfort zone?
""The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude."."
– Julia Childs
3. Family and Change: Redefining What Matters
Navigating change in family dynamics can be an emotional journey, but I’ve learned that family is built on love, respect, and shared moments—not a traditional mold. As this part of my journey begins, I’m learning that what truly matters is how we show up for our children, how we communicate, and how we create a foundation of love and security.
Just like in baking, it’s about finding the right harmony of ingredients to create something meaningful. While this chapter looks different, it is still full of intention, care, and love.
💡 Question: How do you redefine what family and love mean to you?
4. Courage Breeds Confidence: Lessons from the Kitchen and Beyond
If there’s one major lesson the last 45 days has left me with, it’s this: confidence doesn’t come before action—it comes after courage.
I used to believe I needed to feel completely ready before taking a leap. But now I know that confidence is built through doing—whether that’s launching a new product, sharing my personal story, making a tough life changing decision, or pushing through a tough workout.
Courage is the spark. Confidence is what follows.
💡 Encouragement: What’s something you need courage for?
As I close out, I’m carrying these lessons with me —embracing growth, celebrating progress, and kneading courage into every area of my life.
If this month taught me anything, it’s that:✔️ Small steps lead to big changes.✔️ Imperfection is part of the process.✔️ Family is what we make it.✔️ Courage breeds confidence.
What’s one thing you’ve learned this month that you’ll carry forward? Drop a comment—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Let’s keep baking, growing, and showing up. 💛

Great insights. I’m working on getting active as well some days time just flies and you don’t know where the hours went. Raising a kid after all yours have grown it’s a lot of work and patience and even pushing work aside so you can care for the little and not go make that extra dollar you know you need this month. My communities have been a great inspiration for resilience and perspective. Keep baking. Thanks
